You will learn a little bit about their diseases as well, and how you can diagnose such patients. Focus on urea cycle disorders, organic acidemias, hepatic porphyria.

In this free enduring elective, you will earn CME credits while you will see/hear about patients who present with symptoms including stroke because of an underlying genetic metabolic disorder. We will learn a little bit about their diseases as well, and how we can diagnose such patients. Focus on organic acidemias, homocysteinemias, Fabry disease.

This online course is spread out over two weeks to accommodate a full-time working schedule. It includes a mix of learning experiences - six short live sessions (with a choice of 9am or 5pm ET), brief pre-recorded on-demand lecture segments to review when convenient, and homework exercises to apply the learned principles to practical, clinical situations. The curriculum also includes live patient presentations and a special session about the nutritional perspective regarding management. The duration of the course allows a comprehensive overview of the topic with repeat opportunities to review and master the concepts. Course offered again May 1, 2023.
