Focus on diseases like urea cycle disorders, organic acidemias, hepatic porphyria
The videos below are an online replica of the classical training experience so common in teaching hospitals… shadowing a specialist as s/he sees her/his patients in clinic. Each Metabolism Elective has a theme and includes short medical overviews of selected diseases coupled with brief videos of patients/caregivers who describe their experiences in living with those diseases.
This activity is intended for neurologists and neurology trainees, nurses/nurse practitioners, physician assistants, genetic counselors, and dietitians, and other clinicians and their trainees, engaged in the care of patients who present with encephalopathy for reasons that are unclear. All electives will be recorded and posted following the live event on VMP's website.
